Experience and Qualifications
Rev. Dr. Vonda Batts is equipped with over 35 years of professional auditing and accounting experience in a wide range of settings, including non-profit, profit and Federal government arenas. She has a passion for the financial well-being of churches and their congregations. Since there is a great need to be taught God’s truth about proper money management, she provides the opportunity to do just that. This is accomplished by taking God’s financial principles about how to handle money and possessions to people in their home, church, and community and by providing reasonable assurance that good stewardship is being used in handling and accounting for the funds and other assets of church organizations.
Dr. Batts is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified in Financial Forensics, a Certified Internal Controls Auditor and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. Dr. Batts graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia, a Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Her doctoral project, entitled “Loosening the Shackles of Financial Illiteracy Within a Local Church,” received the “Doctor of Ministry Outstanding Project in Justice and Mercy Award.” The project implemented a methodology to increase one’s knowledge and skills relating to financial concepts, resulting in better money management and stewardship practices, creating financial security and empowerment, and providing economic stability and health to those who previously lacked it.
During her extensive experience, Dr. Batts has held senior level positions, including audit director, senior audit manager and financial management expert, controller, chief financial officer, and director of accounting. Additionally, she is currently serving as the lead associate minister at her local church. For ten years, she served as volunteer chaplain in her neighborhood community at the Hunters Professional Assisted Living Center in Mitchellville, MD.
Dr. Batts enjoys walking and aerobic dance exercising. One of her favorite Scriptures is Philippians 4:13, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”

- Non-profit audit services – We offer quality audits you can understand and trust. An audit provides reasonable assurance that good stewardship is being used in handling and accounting for the funds and other assets of your church or organization. In examining financial statements, we observe certain assets, verify certain transactions and balances with third parties, sample transactions, test support and revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities, and other procedures, as necessary.
- Financial literacy training - Money is clearly an important aspect of our everyday lives. Yet, a key problem that cripples many people today, including the church, is the complexity of understanding, handling and working with money. A lack of financial understanding of basic financial literacy concepts can be a serious roadblock to a healthy financial life. We offer bible based financial literacy education and training through seminars, programs, workshops, and individual coaching sessions. Since stewardship is a component of financial literacy and includes the wise use of possessions, we also offer sessions on stewardship.
